Welcome!
You have stumbled upon the website for one (1) of earth’s 7.8 billion (!!) human inhabitants. This particular human happens to be a writer, visual artist, musician, and more.
Hello, I’m Jamey.
I write novels and short stories about queer people. I’d like to see more queer representation in mainstream fiction because we exist and deserve to be a part of the narrative. I am currently an MFA candidate of the low-residency creative writing program at University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe and Fiction Editor for the Sierra Nevada Review.
What’s new?
My interview with Richard Mirabella is out now on Split Lip Magazine, where we discuss his process and the inspiration behind his debut novel Brother & Sister Enter the Forest.
The fall 2024 online issue of the Sierra Nevada Review is available now, featuring “Family Dinners at Samba” by Katie Bockino, who I had the pleasure of working with in polishing her story prior to publication.
The spring 2024 online issue of the Sierra Nevada Review will be available in early March. We’ve curated an amazing collection of fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry from a diverse set of unique voices you won’t want to miss.
My short story “Silver Lips” has been published in Volume 3: Issue 6 of OLIT magazine.
I’ve been posting memorable and/or favorite quotes from the novels I’m reading on my Instagram. Give me a follow if you like.
My short story “The Appeasers” was a finalist in this year’s New Millennium Writing Awards.
My story "Chrysalis" was a finalist in the 2023 Saints and Sinners fiction anthology. Read a review of the anthology by Jerry Wheeler.
My flash fiction piece “Seven Pints” was published online by Flash Fiction Magazine. You can read it here.
